Hi, I’m Hélène, the one-woman band behind Smitten with Ink.
Let me take you for a little tour behind the scenes.
A few things about me
I am a self-taught designer & hot foil printer. Prior to founding Smitten with Ink, I was a chartered accountant (technically still am!) but the shift to a creative life happened when I was on maternity leave. I found calligraphy as a way to be more mindful and from there discovered a love for all things paper, typography and hand printing.
I am French but after 17 years in London, this is truly home and I consider myself a real Londoner. Although I love the city life, I do miss the mountains and the ocean air so I make sure to go back to the French Basque Country every summer. It’s a great way to recharge my energy levels.
Some of my favourite things and in no particular order: marshmallows, evenings watching Netflix, catching up with friends at a lovely café, mid-century modern interior design, strolls on the South Bank in London, taking pictures of random things when I’m out and about, my leather jacket which I manage to wear 75% of the year, a good exhibition at the V&A.
Smitten with Ink
Smitten with Ink is a stationery design & hot foil studio based in Wimbledon, South West London.
It specialises in contemporary and evocative wedding stationery that reflects your personality and tells your unique love story.
My focus is on creating tactile stationery with designs that are sophisticated, bold and minimalist all at once. It’s all about awakening the senses and finding the perfect combination of colour palette and typography that will achieve the aesthetic envisioned by my couples.
From the conception of modern designs to the artisan production of invitations on a vintage hot foil press, love and the highest level of care and attention are at the core of what I do in the studio.
